While Bruce Springsteen is undoubtedly as relevant as ever — he still sells out stadiums and seems to trend pretty much every day on Twitter (or whatever it's called now) — it's possible that he's been so successful, and so good, for so long that people are running out of things to say about him.
Compared to Springsteen's 70th birthday in 2019, when Rolling Stone basically stopped the presses to go all-Bruce, all the time, there are relatively fewer tributes making the rounds today, on the Boss man's 75th. (!) But I really think that's because, at this point, what is there left to say, other that we are blessed to still have Bruce Springsteen in our lives to the level that he is. (And, occasionally, to knock around.)
So Merry Brucemas to all (in case you've forgotten, here's how to celebrate), and enjoy some of the tributes and well-wishes that have turned up on this day of days. We'll add more as they turn up.
"Bruce Springsteen Turns 75," Erich J. Prince, Merion West. (Key quote: "He will be remembered ... for his anthems about ordinary Americans in the second half of the 20th century (a staunch egalitarian, he used to hate being called 'the Boss'), as well as his unending affection for his home state of New Jersey.")
"The Boss 'is the youngest 75-year-old we know,'" Asbury Park Press.
"Bruce Springsteen turns 75: a look back at the rock icon," UPI.com. (With 25 great photos from throughout his career, it could also be called, "a look back at the rock icon's hairstyles.")
